Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State,
have threatened to institute a lawsuit against President Buhari if he
fails to seek re-election in 2019. Yesterday, the APC stakeholders
unanimously adopted President Buhari as their presidential candidate for
the 2019 general elections and have promised to buy his nomination
ticket in 2019. They said they would drag him to court if he declines
their endorsement. According to a statement released by the Senior
Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu,
Presidnet Buhari didnt accept or decline the endorsement in his speech.
Shehu said President Buhari only smiled and went on to underscore the
need for unity in the party and among the diverse people of Nigeria.
The APC stakeholders meeting, held on the sidelines of the president’s state visit to Kano, was attended by Governor Ganduje, his deputy, Professor Hafizu Abubakar, the state chairman and the members of the state and national executive committees of the party from Kano State.
Also in attendance were two of the state’s senators; members of the House of Representatives from the state; the speaker and 34 of the 40 members of the State House of Assembly and the 44 party chairmen, their deputies and local government area secretaries of the party.
