ADC Affirms Abubakar Malami as Kebbi Governorship Candidate for 2027

The African Democratic Congress in Kebbi State has affirmed former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by Mohammed Bello Doka, who said party leaders, stakeholders and supporters had expressed strong confidence in the ADC’s readiness for the next election cycle.

According to the statement, retired military officer, Aminu Bande, was also affirmed as the party’s senatorial candidate for Kebbi Central Senatorial District.

Similarly, retired Deputy Comptroller-General, Ibrahim Muhammad Mera, emerged as the party’s candidate for Kebbi North Senatorial District, while Garba Danjuma Limi was affirmed as the senatorial candidate for Kebbi South.

The statement noted that the ADC remains committed to delivering purposeful leadership, good governance, justice, security and sustainable development in Kebbi State and across Nigeria.

Party leaders also called for unity, determination and stronger collaboration among members and supporters as preparations ahead of the 2027 elections continue to gather momentum.

According to the statement, the ADC is optimistic about building “a more prosperous future for generations to come.”

Meanwhile, reports indicate that Malami is currently facing trial over allegations linked to his time in public office. However, the former minister has consistently maintained his innocence, describing the case against him as politically motivated and a witch-hunt.

The latest development signals increasing political realignments and early positioning by opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
