Some suspected illegal oil marketers were busted in Abuja by a combined team of the Nigerian Notational Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and security agencies.
The team, led by the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Dr Mikanti Baru, arrested the suspected black marketers on Monday afternoon amid the fuel scarcity in Nigeria.
According to the NNPC, the arrest followed an ambush to on the suspects while the team comprises operatives of the Joint Task Force from the Corporation and the Department of Petroleum Resources.
Others are drawn from the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
