Nollywood Veteran Lalude Alleges MC Oluomo Raked in Millions for Tinubu Campaign But Left Them Penniless
Veteran Nollywood actor Fatai Adekunle Adetayo, better known as Lalude, has publicly accused NURTW chairman MC Oluomo of reneging on a N1.5 million payday promised to him and a fellow actor for campaigning during the 2023 presidential and gubernatorial elections.
On the Beyond the Fame podcast, Lalude revealed that he, alongside comedy colleague Ganiu “Alapini” Nofiu, were brought in by MC Oluomo to campaign for President Bola Tinubu and Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo‑Olu. They were lodged away from home and spent seven weeks canvassing support—initially receiving only ₦10,000 per day for food, which abruptly stopped
“We were camped for seven weeks. We trekked long distances every day while MC Oluomo followed us in his car,” Lalude recounted. > “MC promised me and Alapini N1.5 million each. We demanded it—but got nothing to date.”
Despite finishing the campaign grind, Lalude says the promised honorarium never materialized. He expressed frustration and hinted at possible follow-up in 2027, stressing moral accountability: “Whoever is behind these misdeeds will not prosper.
The allegation follows similar public disappointment from Alapini and Aminatu “Papapa” Raji, who also voiced regret for their campaign support without compensation
MC Oluomo has yet to respond to the claims. With the 2027 elections on the horizon, Lalude’s announcement serves as both a caution to campaign backers and a challenge to those who benefit from celebrity endorsement.
